Mr. Midgley is a 1990 graduate of Adair High School in Adair, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1994. After working for several years in computers and banking, Mr. Midgley went back to school at Northeastern State University and received his Master’s degree in Library Media and Information Science in 2005. He was hired as a teacher at Ketchum High School that same year where he has taught English III and IV, Journalism I & II, Oklahoma History, Government, Algebra II, Desktop Publishing, and Yearbook. Mr. Midgley became the high school and middle school librarian in 2007. He sponsors the high school Academic Team and the National Honor Society. This year he is also one of the senior class sponsors. Mr. Midgley is a member of the Oklahoma Library Association (OLA) and the American Library Association / Young Adult Library Services Association (ALA / YALSA). He is also a member of the Oklahoma Academic Coaches Association (OACA) and an official chapter sponsor through the National Honor Society.
